You have a team to thank, a few clients who carried you through the year, and roughly ₹2,000 a head to do it. The Diwali gifts for employees and clients that people actually keep are small, wearable and made of real metal: a 925 sterling silver watch charm, a small pendant or a clip-on ear piece will still be in use long after the mithai box is empty.
I make silver jewellery in Jaipur, so I am not neutral here. What I can do is tell you which of our pieces fit under ₹2,000, which do not, how far ahead to order, and what to check before you hand silver to someone whose beliefs you do not know. This is written for founders, HR teams and small business owners who would rather give twelve things that last than fifty things that get regifted.
In short
- Under ₹2,000, our strongest gifts are watch charms, a small pendant and ear pieces, each in 925 sterling silver (92.5% silver) and listed at about 2 g.
- Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026 and Dhanteras on Friday 6 November, so plan backwards from the day you hand gifts out.
- Most of our pieces are made to order and usually dispatch in 2 to 5 working days; for quantities and a fixed date, message support before you order.
- Under the Income-tax Rules, 2026, employer gifts are not taxed as a perquisite while the year's total stays within ₹15,000.
- Avoid anything sold as "German silver": it contains no silver at all.
Why a small silver piece beats another box of sweets
By the week after Diwali, plenty of office pantries look the same: half a box of kaju katli, a dry fruit tin nobody has opened and a stack of diaries waiting for the new year. Sweets are a lovely gesture, and they are gone by Bhai Dooj. Nobody remembers who sent which box.
A piece of 925 sterling silver works differently because it gets worn. It comes out of the box and into someone's day. A watch charm is seen every time they check the time. A pendant sits under a collar through Monday meetings. That is the recall you are paying for, and it does not need your logo stamped across it.
Here is what the gifting trade rarely says out loud: a lot of "silver" Diwali gifts are silver-plated brass or German silver. German silver, also called nickel silver, is an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc and contains no silver at all. If a gift is going out with your company's name on the card, make sure the metal is what you say it is.
Diwali gifts for employees under ₹2,000: what fits and who it suits
I have kept this list to pieces that sit under ₹2,000 at the time of writing. Silver rates move, so check the product page before you order a quantity.
Watch charms: the easiest gift for a mixed team
A watch charm is a small silver piece that clips onto a smartwatch strap, so it is worn on the wrist without needing a bracelet size, a piercing or a chain. That makes it the simplest jewellery gift for a team of men and women whose sizes you will never know.
The Mahadev Unisex Watch Charm carries the Mahadev inscription in a deliberately plain design, and it is one of our bestsellers. For someone who has had a hard year and come through it, the Lotus Watch Charm has layered petals opening outward, the lotus being a symbol many people read as growth through difficulty. We also make an evil eye charm and a Ram charm for colleagues who would value them. You can see all of them in our watch charms collection, and I have written more about how people wear them in this guide to silver watch charms.
A small pendant for people who already wear a chain
The Swastik Unisex Pendant is compact, with clean geometric lines, and suits someone who wears a chain every day. One honest note: the chain is sold separately. If your recipient does not already own a silver chain, this is a gift for a different person.
Ear pieces for colleagues you know well
The Unisex Gumbad Ear Clip is a dome-shaped clip-on ear cuff, available as a single piece or a pair, and it needs no piercing. It is the piece I would pick for a design or creative team. For women colleagues with pierced ears, our Cluster Pearl Stud Earrings are sold as a pair and sit quietly enough for any office.
| Gift | Who it suits | Why it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Mahadev Unisex Watch Charm | Shiva devotees on your team, any gender | Clips onto a smartwatch strap; no size to guess |
| Lotus Watch Charm | Someone who carried a hard project this year | Seen every time they check the time |
| Swastik Unisex Pendant | People who already wear a chain daily | Compact enough for daily wear; chain sold separately |
| Unisex Gumbad Ear Clip | Creative teams, anyone without piercings | Clip-on, so it works for anyone |
| Cluster Pearl Stud Earrings | Women colleagues with pierced ears | Office-friendly studs she can wear daily |
What sits above ₹2,000
At the time of writing, our silver bookmarks, thread bracelets, the Om pendant and our personalised name pieces all cost more than this budget. If you have three or four key clients you want to thank properly, those are worth a look, but I would not stretch a whole team's budget for them.
Employees and clients need different thinking
For your own team, the biggest mistake is assuming everyone shares the same faith. Spiritual motifs are a beautiful gift for someone who holds them and an awkward one for someone who does not. A simple fix: shortlist three pieces, one spiritual, one neutral and one for pierced ears, and let each person choose. It costs you one extra email and saves you a drawer of unworn gifts.
For clients, check whether their company has a gifting policy before anything leaves your office, because some organisations cap what their staff can accept. Choose a neutral design, send it to their office rather than their home, and write the card by hand. A short note in your own handwriting does more than a printed logo ever will.
If you are unsure your team will wear jewellery to work at all, read my notes on wearing real silver at the office, and on how to choose a silver gift that feels personal.
Ordering in quantity: timing, packing and tax
Most of our jewellery is made to order. That means a piece is made after you order it, not pulled off a shelf. Dispatch usually takes 2 to 5 working days, Sundays and public holidays do not count, and courier time comes on top. Some pieces need longer. In festive weeks, those public holidays add up.
So work backwards from the day you plan to hand gifts out, not from Diwali itself. If you need more than a handful of pieces, or a fixed date, message our team through the contact page with the quantity and the date before you place the order. We will tell you honestly whether it is possible. Shipping within India is free on orders above ₹1,500.
Every order comes with a pouch for storage. If you are ordering several pieces to hand out one by one, ask us how a multi-piece order will be packed, so you know whether to plan your own gift boxes.
Is the gift taxable for your employee?
Under the Income-tax Rules, 2026, the perquisite value of gifts, vouchers or tokens from an employer is treated as nil if their total for the tax year does not exceed ₹15,000, a limit raised from ₹5,000, as KPMG's summary of the new rules explains. A single piece under ₹2,000 sits well inside that, but the limit counts the whole year, so check with your accountant if you also give vouchers or other gifts.
What I tell founders who ask me
Give fewer things, better. I would rather you gave twelve people a real 925 piece that weighs about 2 grams than fifty people a plated coin. People notice the difference between a gift that was chosen and a gift that was ordered by the hundred.
Our family has worked with silver since 1985, and our karigars in Jaipur make these pieces by hand. Each one is stamped 925. Real silver tarnishes over time, because it reacts with sulphur compounds in the air and in sweat, and a wipe with a soft silver cloth brings it back. Put one line about that in your card. It saves your colleague a worried message and tells them you gave them the real thing. If anyone wants to check, our guide on how to tell if silver is real walks through it.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good Diwali gift for a client under ₹2,000?
A small piece of 925 sterling silver with a neutral design is a safe choice for a client: a lotus watch charm, a clip-on ear piece, or pearl studs if you know her well. Check your client's gifting policy first, and send it to their office with a handwritten note rather than a printed logo card.
Is jewellery an appropriate corporate gift for men?
Yes, if it is something he will actually wear. Watch charms are the easiest choice because they clip onto a smartwatch strap and need no size, and several of ours are designed as unisex. A small pendant suits men who already wear a chain. Skip rings, because guessing sizes for a whole team rarely works.
Can I send silver Diwali gifts to clients abroad?
Yes, we ship internationally for prepaid orders, but allow plenty of time: international orders are processed within 7 to 10 business days and the standard delivery timeline is up to 20 business days. Import duties are paid by the recipient, and international orders cannot be returned or exchanged, so tell your client in your note.
How early should I order silver gifts for a Diwali team event?
Earlier than you think. Most of our pieces are made to order and usually dispatch in 2 to 5 working days, not counting Sundays and public holidays, and courier time comes on top. For more than a handful of pieces or a fixed date, message our support team before you order so we can confirm what is possible.
Diwali gifts for employees that are still worn in March
The Diwali gifts for employees and clients that earn their place are the ones people wear: a watch charm on a strap, a pendant under a collar, a clip on an ear. Choose real 925 sterling silver, match the motif to the person, and order early enough that made to order does not become made too late. Real Silver. Made to be worn every day.
